Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Retrofit-Small Projects Sales Specialist in the Cherry Hill NJ area who will be responsible for Commercial Retro replacement quotations and small design build/plan spec project quotations through direct contact with new and existing Service/Construction customers.  

Key Position Responsibilities:

•     Responsible for Commercial Division retro replacement quotations and small design build project quotations through direct contact with new and existing service / construction customers. 
•     Develop new business relationships and assist with maintaining existing and new customer base.  
•     Solicit and procure new “ customer for life” service relationships. 
•     Interact with new customers and actively market products and services, ie, service repairs and additional retrofit/fitout/construction opportunities such as plumbing, duct cleaning, building automation systems and energy services.
•     Perform design, including load calculation analysis and other considerations as required for a proper working system. Complete take-off of mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, ATC, piping, sheet metal and equipment) items for various projects 
•     Complete Job Startup and cost breakdown prior to any work done on job. 
•     Assure job conditions and personnel are conducive to working in a safe manner and adhere to safety policies and procedures that ensure technician and customer safety.
•     Coordinate buy-out of project after award.   
•     Perform project management coordination (and/or PM transfer of responsibility) as well as field supervisor pre-con scope of work as required for proper installation.   
•     Timely and effective billing (including deposits) for every project.  
•     Ensures all project related files are kept accurately and expeditiously. 
•     Attends weekly manpower meetings with Division Manager, Project Managers and Superintendents. 
•     Monitors any inconsistencies between original estimate and scope of work as required. Expedite change orders promptly.
•     Profitability analysis of projects. Monthly work in process (WIP) as required.
•     Attend local business networking events as required and as directed by supervisor
•     Update and maintain additional sales “ lead” reports as required.
•     Represent the Company in a courteous and professional manner and treat all customers and employees with respect, utilizing their ideas and suggestions whenever practical.
•     Work with Department Managers in support of the corporate goals, mission and vision.
•     Support business profitability by ensuring quality work practices and proper time management skills as it relates to the maintenance of existing Service agreement base and the growth of new agreement customers.
•     Train new employees as directed in the proper procedures, practices and promotion of our client’ s Mechanical Services customer satisfaction philosophy.
•     Performing related duties as directed.
•     Attend company offered HVAC and Sales training sessions as required. 

Skills, Education and Experience
•     5+ years experience with commercial applications and a general knowledge of installing and servicing commercial equipment. 
•     Experience and technical training in mechanical contracting field. Some familiarity with legal aspects pertinent to contracts and completion of projects. General knowledge of construction industry

•     PC Knowledge required (software: Excel, Microsoft Office, etc.)
•     Duct and piping design basics
•     Strong interpersonal/communication skills (speaking, listening, writing) in a team environment
•     Appropriate professional dress and appearance 
•     Capacity to set priorities, organize and handle detail
•     Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•     Ability to be flexible and resilient in responding quickly to changing demands
•     Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with all demographic groups in the HVAC field,(i.e., customers, suppliers and employees)
•     Ability to work under pressure and on a flexible schedule.

Other Special Considerations and Preferences
•     College degree preferred – Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree with applicable course work (HVAC, mechanical engineering, management).  
•     Familiarity with small business operations within the industry
•     Able to support a flexible work schedule as needed based on the needs of our customers.
•     Travel between various jobsite locations
•     Commitment to ongoing training.
